Distribution is the holy grail for many independent filmmakers. In fact for filmmakers period. I have always been fascinated with the self-distribution landscape, how it empowers independent filmmakers, and gives audiences access to work that might otherwise go unseen on a larger scale. The internet is the largest platform there is, which is why streaming is as big as it is currently, and due to continue on its exponential journey towards becoming even more common place in our lives. The big screen experience is one that is hard to beat, but it is also one that is more and more inaccessible to independent films. FRIEND is a halfway house between those two worlds. An attempt to give the “Live” theatrical experience the home video treatment, whilst empowering independents and audiences alike.
